What volunteer opportunities are available in Cambodia
There are many volunteer opportunities in Cambodia. We offer rewarding programs such as working in an orphanage, teaching English, environmental and conservation projects, photo journalism programs, and medical volunteer programs.
Volunteer Work In Orphanage In Cambodia
Cambodia is an extremely poverty-stricken country with many destitute families and orphaned children. They are lacking funds and resources to help these people.
Our orphanage in Cambodia volunteer programs work with local orphanages to help provide these poor children a safe home, love, and education.
Orphanage volunteers are urgently needed to help with a variety of tasks to keep the orphanage running.
Skills/Qualifications Needed: The only qualification required for volunteers for the orphanage in Cambodia are love and compassion for these forgotten children. They desperately need your patient, kindness, and support.
Volunteer Responsibilities: Orphanage volunteers in Cambodia will have a variety of tasks to perform. You will teach English, play sports and games, sing, or any creative activity to engage with the children.
Volunteer English Teaching Cambodia
English is strongly needed for people in Cambodia to gain better employment. English is a luxury and not taught in the public schools.
Many families are dreadfully poor and unable to send their children to private schools or pay for English classes.
Our volunteer English teaching in Cambodia project works closely with the local schools to help these disadvantaged students learn basic English.
As a volunteer teaching English in Cambodia, you will help these children learn English giving them the opportunity for a better future.
Helping these children is enabling the poverty cycle to be broken and giving the entire community a chance at a future without poverty and starvation.
The children and local families are so happy to have volunteers teach them they welcome you with open arms.
Skills/Qualifications Needed: To volunteer teaching English in Cambodia only requires a passion and awareness to help disadvantaged children. Teaching experience is helpful but not required. If English is not your native language, you must have a good knowledge of the English language.
Volunteer Responsibilities: Volunteers teaching English in Cambodia will basically teach English in either a private school or a public school. You may also participate with playing sports, games, and helping with homework.
At times you may be required to help with other tasks such as preparing the day’s lesson, helping with daily student activities, or even teaching a class on hairstyling, IT, music, theater, or different languages.
Work in a Medical/Healthcare Project
The healthcare system in Cambodia is making great strides to improve, unfortunately, the disadvantaged poor Cambodians still cannot afford basic healthcare.
Many are even unaware that healthcare could treat and prevent many diseases, make them healthier, and save their lives. Cambodia medical volunteers are critically needed to educate and motivate these sick, poverty stricken people.
Volunteers in the Cambodia medical programs will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience, give medical care to impoverished communities, and explore one of the world’s most captivating countries. You can have all of this and more!
Skills/Qualifications Needed: Cambodia medical volunteers are not required to have prior experience or schooling. We gear our programs to meet your skills. Students, professionals, retirees, all are invited!
Volunteer Responsibilities: Medical volunteer responsibilities will be based on your qualifications and the needs of the clinic. You may be asked to provide basic care, help with therapy, take vital signs, document patient details, administrative work, or just watch the nurses and doctors work. There are many everyday tasks to help with.
