Monk Teaching Project in Nepal

Beautiful monasteries of Nepal display the ancient Buddhist culture. English is a universal language. Therefore, the aim is to teaching monks a more widely used language so they can effectively spread the teachings of Buddha.

Volunteers will be working as an English teacher in local monasteries in Kathmandu or the Tibetan Children’s Village. You will be giving lessons for 3 to 4 hours in a day. There will be ample time to learn about the Buddhist religion and culture. You can participate in meditation, prayers and the songs of Buddhist monks if it interests you.

You do not need any specific qualifications to join the volunteering charity program of teaching English to Buddhist monks. Monks are highly respected figures who live and exemplary life so only volunteers who are disciplined can enroll in the project.

Elephant Conservation in Thailand

In the past, elephants in Thailand were used as machinery for farming and logging.  Logging has now become prohibited, rendering the elephants redundant. Since elephants are expensive to look after either they were either sold or taken to the street of big cities to entertain people for money, which is illegal.

IFRE is has created a program to support the village of the Surin Province so that the Mahouts won’t sell their elephants. The program assists the village via volunteers, elephant food, community projects and financial support.

Participants of the volunteering charity program abroad will be interacting with the elephants while riding, washing and feeding them. You will be spending three nights a week with a village elder and his family. Living with the locals will give you an insight into their day to day life and you will learn to cook Thai food and fish. 

You will also get a chance to kayak on a local river and work on the farm.

As a member of a conservation project in Thailand you will be expected to help in cooking and daily activities. You will be briefed about the Thai etiquettes before your departure to Thailand.

Volunteers do not need any skills or qualifications to join this project besides your love and compassion for the animals. Your patience and flexibility will play a significant role during the project.

HIV/Aids Project in Ghana

Barely any country is left untouched by the wrath of the life threatening disease called HIV/AIDS and Ghana is no exception. Every year thousands of adults and children are infected and killed by the deadly disease.

As a member of the charity volunteering work abroad in the HIV/AIDS project Ghana, you will be providing care to the local people through educational training and activities to spread awareness regarding HIV/AIDS.

The HIV/AIDS program focuses on two areas. The first focus area aims to provide treatment and psychological support to the HIV/AIDS victims. Volunteers will be distributing food, medicine and clothes, while giving counseling and support to the victims. Tips on maintaining a nutritious diet and sanitation will part of your volunteering responsibility.

The second phase targets spreading awareness on the disease along with its preventive measures. You will be contributing to counseling and educational programs in major hospitals and communities targeted towards young men and women. You do not require any specific qualifications to enroll in the HIV/AIDS project in Ghana.

Teaching Project in Thailand

There are thousands of Buddhist temples in Thailand where monks live. Buddhist monks live and practice religious and social activities. Providing education to local children is a part of their social service.

Since schools and Buddhist temples are located in the same complex you will have an amazing experience while teaching in Thailand.

Most of the Buddhist temples offer education to local children in primary and secondary level. You will be working 4 to 5 hours a day from Monday to Friday. You will be teaching conversational English to the children during your volunteering charity work abroad. Volunteers will also be organizing extracurricular activities for the children.

Teaching and encouraging children to maintain their health and personal hygiene will be part of your volunteering responsibility.

Sea Turtle Project in Mexico

All species of sea turtles are listed as endangered and are protected by law. However, thousands of turtles are slaughtered every year for meat, eggs, shells and skin. Turtles die after being trapped in fishing gear and people poaching.

Climate change and the construction of resorts and homes in nestling areas are also the causes for the decrease in the number of turtles. IFRE is offering you the chance to make a difference through the sea turtle project in Mexico.

Volunteers do not need previous training to join this project as they will be provided on-site training upon arriving at the camp. Knowledge of basic Spanish will help with communicating with the locals but isn’t a necessity.

You will be working day and night for this project. During the day time you will be responsible for cleaning the nests, saving hatchlings and preventing contamination in the area. At night time you will be observing nestling activity in the incubation corral, patrolling the  beach and releasing hatchlings into the ocean.

Data collection is an important aspect of the volunteering charity opportunity abroad sea turtle project.

Health Project in Tanzania

The local hospitals in the villages and city outskirts of Tanzania lack manpower and resources. Volunteers do not need any specific qualifications to join the project in Tanzania as it has been designed in such a way that anyone can contribute. You will be assisting doctors or medical staff in the health centers.

As a participant of this project, you will be measuring the height, weight, temperature and blood pressure of the patients. Assisting in the medical camps, distributing medicines, keeping patients records, counseling patients and telling them about the importance of nutrition and sanitation will be part of your volunteering responsibility.

Volunteers might be treating minor injuries or wounds during the  volunteer work abroad  health project.

Hiv/Aids Project in Cambodia

HIV/AIDS is a life threatening disease and its cure hasn’t been found yet. Many people across the world, including Cambodia are suffering from the deadly disease. People from all demographics suffer from the disease but the condition.  Those battling with poverty as well have it the worst.

IFRE works with the local organizations, which provide awareness programs and various other programs for the victims. It gives you a chance to make a difference through the charity work abroad HIV/AIDS project.

Besides having a passion to serve people in need, you do not need any specific education or training. Volunteers will be educating local people to help bring change in their behavior towards infected persons. You will be counseling the infected person and assisting the HIV/AIDS community with hospice care and educational and recreational programs.

Conducting educational seminars and conferences to prevent the disease will also be part of your volunteering responsibility during your volunteer with the HIV/AIDS project.

Orphanage project in Nepal

The internal conflicts of the nation, poverty and political instability have made many orphans. The orphans need help, care and attention. Due to this IFRE is working with different orphanages to help the children.

There aren't any specific skills or experience required to participate in orphanage project in Nepal. Your patience, compassion and flexibility will play a vital role while volunteering. You will be teaching English during the orphanage project of Nepal. Volunteers will be teaching for 3 to 4 hours a day. You will be teaching the importance of personal hygiene and sanitation and will be encouraging the children to put what they learn into practice.

Organizing and participating in extra-curricular activities like drawing, singing, dancing, and playing games will also be part of your charity volunteering program abroad. Your assistance will be expected when serving and preparing meals, with administrative work and maintenance of the garden.
