2. You get to make lots of new friendships and connections

It’s natural for volunteers to make lifelong friendships. Sharing new experiences and the same goals, interests and commitment to a cause is a great way to bond, There are wider benefits too, as learning to chat with strangers is a useful skill to have throughout life.

Bali Teaching

Bali is a popular place for tourists, and every year the country makes many millions of dollars from visitors who enjoy luxury hotels, some of them also like to fest on exotic delicacies such as turtle meat.

Meanwhile many thousands of Balinese families live in absolute poverty, getting through each day without the basics like water; their children unable to eat well or study at school. Of course at the same time the turtle population is being endangered, a threat to both the animals and the balance of nature.

You can make a huge difference in the campaign to change these practices on a special two-pronged Bali alternative spring break high school volunteer program. Volunteers spend half the day assisting local teachers deliver English lessons, and the rest of it helping to preserve sea turtles for the long term.

As a volunteer you will help with many different tasks, and of course there is some hands-on work with these innocent creatures too.
